"I'm not sure how it ends, really," admitted Alice, "but I do know that we're not going to stay married forever. That's enough for me."

A million things were running through Alice's head at the moment. Could she find a way to send a letter to Jasper? Would Edward ever leave Hogwarts with her to find the rest of their family? Was Demyx actually a creep?

As long as I'm not stuck with him until the end of time, I don't care.

"Sounds good to me, really. I don't think I want to be married yet, anyway. You always hear about bad stuff coming outta marrying young."

"Yeah, it's never pleasant," Alice agreed, "Look, I'm sorry we had to start out like this. I'm not a violent grouch, really," she held out her cold, marble hand and said, "Friends?"

Demyx grinned widely and took the hand. "Friends. And I'm not a psychotic creep, unlike some people I won't mention."

Alice smiled, "So, what are we going to do until we're allowed out of here?"

Demyx shrugged. "Not a clue. I'm... not exactly big on planning."

Alice tilted her head, "If you were a girl, I'd suggest shopping and pedicures. Unless you really want to, and, if so, I'm not complaining," she grinned.

"Um... yeah, no." Demyx didn't even think he knew many women who'd be interested in that - most of the people he ran into were... less than conventional. He started humming again as he thought.

Alice chuckled to herself, "That's alright. I can probably find someone else to do that with me," she smirked at Demyx, "Isn't it past your bedtime, anyways?"

Demyx grinned back. "Y'know, I think I'm old enough to judge for myself. It's not as if there's anything all that important to do tomorrow, anyway."

Alice shrugged, "Suit yourself," she seized her bag and hopped onto the couch, "I'll be right here if you need me at all tonight."

She took out her ballpoint pen and a sheet of paper. Alice hummed to herself as she began to write a letter to her Jasper.

Demyx grinned broadly as he started humming as well, picking up the tune. This would probably either amuse Alice no end or drive her nuts, and if there was one thing Demyx was good at, it was music.

Alice had barely penned out My Dear Jasper before realizing she wasn't the only one humming.

Impossible. This is Edward's song for Esme... he wouldn't know it.

"Have you met my brother, Edward, by any chance?" Alice stopped humming to ask.

"Huh? No, I don't think so..." It was always possible that he had and just never caught his name, but Demyx doubted it. He'd only actually visited a few worlds in his time with the Organization.

Alice tilted her head, "Hm. I imagine you'll meet him soon enough, though. He'll want to know who I ended up marrying."

She turned back to her letter and continued writing.

"I guess I'd wanna know who my sister ties the knot with, too. Or I would if I had a sister, anyway." He pulled his sitar out of thin air again and started in on yet another song, a quiet one this time. I bought a cheap watch from the crazy man floating down canal... It doesn't use numbers or moving hands; it always just says now.

Alice listened to Demyx play as she wrote out her letter so fast her hand blurred. By the time she had finished, her letter was several pages long and filled with tiny, neat handwriting.

"What song is that?" she asked her husband, "I don't believe I've ever heard it before."

Demyx shrugged. "'Scalled 'Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On'. I tend to play a lot of Jimmy Buffett songs."

Alice smiled, "Edward would like you. He's a big music fan, too. Maybe you two could talk sometime."

"Huh. You think so?"

Alice nodded, grinning, "Yeah, I do. After we get out of this, you and Edward have to meet. He could use someone to talk to other than his sister."

Demyx shrugged. "If you say so. Uh... does the vampire thing run in families?"

Alice's grin faded a little, "Actually, it's a long story how my family came to be. There's Carlisle, Esme, Emmett, Jasper, Rosalie, Edward, and me. Carlisle married Esme, and they're sort of our guardians. Emmett and Rosalie are married, and Edward is in love with a human named Bella. As for me, I have Jasper. We all came to the family in different ways. We're all adopted Cullens, really."

"Oh." Demyx fidgeted for a moment before asking, "We're talking dead-people vampires here, not living-mutant-thingy vampires, right?"

Alice smirked, "Do I look like a living mutant thingy to you?"

Shrug. Demyx spends a lot of time shrugging. "Hey, you never know. I kinda thought that that was supposed to be why vampires are scary; you can't tell they're not human just by looking. 'Course, I guess you could say the same thing about Nobodies..."
