Open RP: Hitting the Library for Inspiration
Typewriter (scratched multiple times with the word 'Shooter') hefted awkwardly in his arms, Mort Rainey clutches his notes in between his teeth as he heads towards the Library. It was a little too rowdy in the Ravenclaw common room; he had a feeling the Library might be a little more peaceful. Eventually he found an empty table and set the old machine down, a handy silencing charm ensuring the rattling of the keys wouldn't disturb anyone with their loud clattering. The papers, adorned with messy scribbling, were tossed beside him.
He had also meant to check out Wizard literature, though he had half a mind to expect that in the middle of reading a book about dragons, he might suddenly be the victim of a vicious beast emerging from the pages trying to re-enact what it had just done to helpless villagers.
Staring at his Royal Office, Mort wondered vaguely if one was allowed to drink in the Library. Writing pages that would ultimately be thrown away in a fit of frustration always made him thirsty.
(OOC: Do come in and pester/amuse/talk to him; it's not like he's going to get a lot of writing done anyway. Damn that writer's block!)
