Hey Peoples,

So, I was making some cookies, and I ran into a bit of a problem. Who knew that 4 dozen really meant 46? I kinda accidentally made a few dozen dozen cookies, and I need some help eating them. You all will help a sister out, right?

Love ya!

Roxy

PS. Ignore the burning smell. It will go away.

(If one were to shift the cookies around, a person would notice a pile of black, charred hunks suitable only for use as hockey pucks under the first layer of edible cookies.)

((These are magical cookies with random, non-fatal results. Effects and duration are up to the muns involved.))

Ed clung back. "But we can't, Al," he lamented. He sniffled a bit and looked around trying to find someone who might help.

Al pulled away enough so he could speak. "Why not? Wanna go home! Now!"

He wasn't crying anymore, exactly, but his face bright red and was just on the verge of a major temper tantrum.

Ed recognized the look on Al's face and instantly knew he wouldn't like what was going to follow.

Unfortunately, since he was only four, Ed didn't have the presence of mind to not say, "But Al, we burned the house down! We can't go home so stop crying!"

...

Al's face got even more red. But now he looked angry as well as scared. "Burned down? No fair lying, Ed!"

And then he plopped on the ground, sitting up and looking up at his brother and started kicking. "I wanna go home!"

[identity profile] fm-elric.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
"'m not lying!," Ed replied vehemently. "And get up and stop saying you wanna go home!"

Passing through the Great Hall on his way to Mai's room, Ryuuji paused at the sight of two very little children -- much too young to be in Hogwarts -- and detoured from his original route, just in time to see the smaller one apparently ready to throw a tantrum. Quickly tucking his books under one arm, he knelt down and asked with an easy charm, looking at both of them to see if he could recognize them, "Hey, what's wrong? I'm Ryuuji, Slytherin Prefect. Anything I can help you with?"

He kept his tone calm and reassuring, used to dealing with Nemo, Mokie and Fillerbunny and thinking of these little ones as being much on the same level.

[identity profile] fullsize-al.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 06:33 am (UTC)(link)
Al pointed at Ed, his face still bright red and flashing anger. "Brother says we burned our house down." He then put his arm down, and glared very pointedly at Ed. "Why burn the house down, brother? That's just silly!"

[identity profile] fm-elric.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
Ed eyed Ryuuji warily. As a four year old, he was none too fond of any kind of authority figure other than his mother. He pointed to the table with the cookies. "We ate the cookies," he replied bluntly before turning back to Al. "We burned it down so we couldn't go back!"

[identity profile] dice-addict.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 06:46 am (UTC)(link)
Oh gods. When were people in this school going to learn to not eat food left lying around?!

But at least that answered the question of what they were doing here...

Having no idea what house they were talking about, Ryuuji tried to steer them away from that topic, still kneeling on the floor and staying calm, "Okay, well, how about you discuss this later? You just had cookies, so maybe you should have some milk now? Milk and cookies go well together. And then you could go outside and play something, if you want to."

[identity profile] fullsize-al.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 07:04 am (UTC)(link)
Al really wanted to know why they burned the house down. But milk! He wanted milk, too! Still glaring at Ed, he blurted out, "But why, brother? Why burn it down?" Then, looking very pitifully at the man who was standing over him, "Milk, please?"

[identity profile] fm-elric.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
"I already told you why!," he cried in frustration. "And I hate milk," he added in his most petulant voice.

[identity profile] dice-addict.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay, well, what do you like to drink? We can go to the kitchen and then you," Ryuuji smiled at Al, "Can have some milk. And your brother can pick out something for himself."

The House Elves were always glad to please, after all. Standing up, he dusted off his knees, the leather of the trousers miraculously unscuffed and tilted his head down at the two kids, "So, shall we?"

[identity profile] fullsize-al.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 07:26 am (UTC)(link)
Al's attention span being that of a three year old, he'd completely forgotten that they'd been discussing their burned down house. He got up off the floor and looked at Ed to see if it was all right to leave with this man. At least he seemed pretty nice. And he was still pretty hungry. He'd only had a bite of one cookie, after all. He figured this man must work in the kitchen since he was taking them there for drinks.

"You have good cookies in the kitchen?"

[identity profile] fm-elric.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
He frowned at Al and the other man. "No more cookies!" Ed obviously didn't trust Ryuuji one bit. "And we aren't going anywhere, Al," he said as he plopped down on the ground defiantly.

[identity profile] fullsize-al.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 07:32 am (UTC)(link)
Al nodded and plopped down next to Ed. "Cake, then, please? Bring milk here?"

[identity profile] dice-addict.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 07:36 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, if you want to have a picnic here, then sure, why not?" Ryuuji shrugged and went along with it, glancing around to see if he could find a House Elf anywhere. Spotting one, he gestured for it to come closer, then told it, "We'd like milk, cake and..."

He slanted a curious look at the two little boys, "Anything else you want from the kitchen?"

[identity profile] fm-elric.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 07:37 am (UTC)(link)
Ed blinked. "Ummmm.... Um." He was at a loss. He could have anything? Well, alright then! "Candy!," he exclaimed.

[identity profile] fullsize-al.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
That sounded like a wonderful idea to Al. He joined in, excitedly.

"Candy! Candy!"

[identity profile] dice-addict.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
"And candy. And a chocolate milk for me, please." Ryuuji added as he confirmed, the House Elf scurrying away to fill that order.

Sitting down again, he asked the other two curiously, "What are your names? I already gave you mine."

[identity profile] fm-elric.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 07:51 am (UTC)(link)
Ed wondered if he should tell Ryuuji his name or not. Considering he was getting candy out of the deal, he decided that he would. "I'm Edward."

[identity profile] fullsize-al.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 07:52 am (UTC)(link)
If it was okay for Ed to tell, it was okay for Al. He pointed at himself. "I'm Alphonse! Can I have my cake and candy now?"

[identity profile] dice-addict.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Nice to meet you both, then." Ryuuji smiled warmly at them both, utterly at ease, then twisted around at the sound of the polite cough. Briefly, the House Elf informed Ryuuji that he was needed in the kitchen to check the cake ingredients -- the gamer's paranoia, already high after the incident where he and Nny had spiked the water supply was now to the level of not eating he hadn't checked the ingredients of -- and to please come immediately.

Getting up again, thinking this was a pretty weird form of exercise, Ryuuji told the two kids, "And the Elves want me to go check the cake, so I'll just do that. If you guys just want to stay here, the food'll be sent up to you, okay? Have fun and play safe!"

[identity profile] fm-elric.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 08:01 am (UTC)(link)
Ed turned to Al. "Now what? We can't stay like this forever." He only had hazy memories of being nineteen, but something told him that he wouldn't want to go through the mess of getting there again.

[identity profile] fullsize-al.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 08:05 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, yeah. We were big. Maybe the cake and milk will make us big again!" Al hoped the food would come quickly. The cookies were even tempting him again. He stood up and looked around, but everyone in the room was so much taller. Stompint his foot in frustration, he called out. "Can't see any food, brother!"

[identity profile] fm-elric.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 08:08 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm not drinking any stupid milk! It'll probably wear off anyway and then we'll be big again." Ed stood and looked around. "Dunno when the elf-thing will get here."
