(Voldemort's Unpopcorning: Open RP!)

POP! In place of a large, fluffly golden-white kernal of popcorn stood Voldemort, looking bewildered. The last thing he remembered was waiting on word from his Death Eaters about Malfoy's mission, and if the miserable little git really died during his task or not. He was really looking foward to the news-- either Dumbledore or Draco was out of his way, when suddenly he found himself standing in a room full of... popcorn kernals.

Stepping gingerly out of his slightly raised pedestal with his wand drawn out, Voldemort moved between the glass cases, inspecting each and every one of them suspiciously. This had to be some sort of dream or trick of the senses. Everything certainly felt very real, including that buttery scent that was clinging to every fiber of his robes.

Confident there was no one else in the room and spying an exit, Voldemort stepped outside.

Adam could feel the unspecified request as a tickle in the back of his mind and looked faintly impressed. He certainly had no intention to explain who or what he was, though.

"Yup," he replied cheerfully. "Hogwarts has changed a lot even since the last time you were here. We've got all kinds of students, now, crossin' all kinds of barriers and that's really helped the school to open up. Gryffindors," Adam gestured to himself, "and Slytherins," a hand wave indicated both Ryuuji and Voldemort, "can even be friends." He beamed.

"Yup, Adam Young. I just thought it'd be a good idea to keep an eye out for everyone."

"Nope," he said with a smile. "I kinda invited myself. I knew I'd be needed. But I think most people end up here by accident. They don't seem to have any intention of showin' up here, anyway."

[identity profile] average-adam.livejournal.com 2006-06-22 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"All the time. People are always comin' and goin'. I think it's magic." And he winked.

Ryuuji nodded and mirrored Adam's grin, "Yeah! Adam's pretty awesome. He's the Quidditch team captain, and I'm captain for Slytherin." Even though I can't fly on a broom without going way too fast and screaming my damn head off. "And he doesn't wear spandex either, or emo, so he's doing a great job of defying the Gryffindor stereotypes. Though he probably fits the 'good' and 'brave' one."

Adam gave Ryuuji a Look.

"I dunno 'bout that," he said, rubbing the back of his neck. "I wouldn't necessarily describe myself as good or brave."

Ryuuji grinned back at Adam, a little impishly. He liked Adam, and as far as he was concerned, Violet was the cutest lamb in existence. "Hey, you helped get rid of the Deadite Menace. That was pretty brave of you, and it was helpful, so that made it a good thing to do. So natch."

He laughed, both hands in his pockets, tone half one of friendly teasing, half genuine gratitude. Because that deadite had been trouble and as tired as Ryuuji had been, no way could he have managed to banish it to the Shadow Realm as he should have.

"This is my world," explained Adam. And it was true in more than one sense. "But I've been at Hogwarts for six months or so, now. Just about a month after it reopened. Ryuuji got here at the very beginnin', I think..."

[identity profile] average-adam.livejournal.com 2006-06-22 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Adam laughed, not at all concerned about the wand. "No. I was born in Lower Tadfield in England twenty years ago as a baby." That wasn't strictly true, but it made for a convenient lie. "I've lived on this Earth and in this time and in this dimension my whole life."

[identity profile] average-adam.livejournal.com 2006-06-22 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
As he was omnipotent, what Adam knew about Hogwarts and Voldemort and how people came and went and everything would be too much to list even in an infintely long book. However, he generally tried to block out that part of his consciousness in order to be fair and not worry people unduly.

"I'll be glad to tell you what I can," he agreed. "And if you have any more questions in the future, you're welcome to owl me anytime."

((OOC: Are you playing this Voldemort as really coming from an alternate dimension, or does he just have amnesia, or what? I only ask because Adam wouldn't get that wrong. XD))

Adam nodded back.

"Mostly what you've gotta know now is that you're back at Hogwarts and you're in Slytherin House, so you report to Professor Crowley, classes are kinda intermittent, you don't wanna eat or drink anythin' that's been layin' out, and no one can be killed here. If you try you'll turn back into popcorn again. Most important, though, is that people here aren't all that they seem. We've got gods and goddesses, anthropomorphic personifications, immortals, demons, superheroes, muggles, animals, all kinds of dif'rent people. Lots of 'em won't be intimidated by you and will even try startin' fights by bein' rude. Just make sure you know who you're talkin' to before you say anythin' is my advice."

((OOC: Oh, I'd love to chat with you if I could, but I'm actually at work... Bad Adam-mun. XD)

[identity profile] average-adam.livejournal.com 2006-06-22 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"Me?" asked Adam, surprised. "People can't seem to decide whether I am or not. I'm pretty sure I can die, but I'd rather not try to find out. I know a lot of the immortals, though."

[identity profile] average-adam.livejournal.com 2006-06-22 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"Helpful doesn't always mean good," explained Adam. "And Gryffindors aren't all 'good' any more than Slytherins are all 'evil'. They're just names for sides. But now's not really the time for philosophizin'."

[identity profile] dice-addict.livejournal.com 2006-06-23 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"That depends on how you define 'good', though, doesn't it? Because good intentions for a bad cause can be either bad or good depending on who you're talking to, so if you're helping out of a sincere desire to aid someone, then I'd call you 'good', regardless of your cause." Ryuuji pointed out, then stuck his tongue out playfully, "And Slytherins aren't evil, we're ambitious. Big, big difference. If my ambition is to feed everyone in the world, once a day, then it's technically a 'good' ambition even though it's on a grand scale."
