A keen observer would notice something pass between Youko and Kurama, the way tension suddenly showed around the former's eyes, and how the latter had gone completely pale.
"Don't," Kurama started, but Youko clapped a hand over his mouth and shoved him violently back.
"Why do you expect me to always know every outcome of a given situation," Youko asked, his voice very calm, and very cold. "How was I supposed to divine that a jinx would sever their bond? I'm not part of it, I can't tell when that kind of energy is around or not; it's just them. If something was wrong, Kuronue at least I'd expect to say something, but I can't just know because it's convenient."
