Office Hours--Divinations

Kusuriyuri decided it had been long enough since he had opened his office. There were other factors influencing this decision, but a good part of it was he felt he was neglecting his duty.

Outside his office door and several other places around the school, signs appeared declaring the Divinations office open for any students who wished to talk, to consult, or who just happened to wander by.

Kusuriyuri knelt behind his table, shincha brewing as it was the season for it, waiting for any who would come in, wondering if a particular one would come in.

OOC: Yeah, this is a 'trap' for a particular character, but is also regular office hours. And, if you're particularly interested in a type of divination or anything else you'd like to see Kusu teach, feel free to mention it :D

On waking up today, Apos had felt like being female. And so, rather than wearing her pants and shirt under a jacket, today she wore a black sun dress and small heels.

Being female usually meant placing more focus on his immortal aspects, and the urge usually came after a rather successful tryst. She wondered if it truly was a success however, as she stared at one of the signs.

Making her way to the Divinations office, she toed her way quietly, and nudged the door open with the tips of her fingers when she reached it. She stared at the peddler for a moment, then lifted a hand to her mouth to hide her smile. "I'm curious to know what exactly your breed is..."

She toed off her shoes and walked further into the office. Kneeling before the table, across from Kusuriyuri, she swept her dress under her knees as she lowered herself. Youkai, she'd heard of in myth. The most she'd ever seen in terms of myth were the dark elves that seemed to pass through her realm, close to her castle.

She tilted her head thoughtfully. "You don't know what you are?"

She waved her hand. "I hate my family. Heritage doesn't matter, no."

She placed her hands in her lap, linked her fingers together, offered him a smile. "So," she began, "you are Kurama's...lover, yes?"

Her eyebrows rose. She didn't really care if she offended him, nor would she apologise for it. "Shall we play quid pro quo then? You tell me something, I tell you something? No more questions, if they annoy you, peddler."

She turned her head away, but kept her eyes locked firmly on him. The action was born of her curiosity, and the slight narrowing of her eyes was playful, but also a slight reprimand of her own. "'Here' is very vague, peddler. Do you mean at Hogwarts, splendid playground it is, or your office?"

She was being purposefully pedantic, yes. Frustration was a beautiful thing.

The first thing China did after leaving the Sorting room -- and, of course, asking a nice House Elf the directions to the Slytherin common room -- was take a long, much needed, hot shower. She had to wash away the filth of Apos. She felt the steam in her lungs, the slick heat of the water running down her back, washing through her hair, taking on a cleansing affect. Once out of the dorms shower she adorned a simple black designer dress, putting a delicate chain on her wrist, then mercurially walked the grounds of Hogwarts.

She remembered passing particular fliers on her way to the Slytherin common room. She hadn't given them much thought, but as she passed the Great Hall, she came across said flier. It pertained to the services of Kusuriyuri, Divination's master and, what she coined as, school counselor. China gave a thoughtful hum. She wasn't the type to readily admit a weakness, least of all to some cretin like Apos, but she needed a release, a way to get some... she groaned, counseling. Maybe after clearing her mind she'd end up procuring a plan for revenge.

This all lead to her standing in front of the Divination classroom. She stared at it for some time, then she rapped twice on the wood, pushing it and looking in. 'Hello?' she asked the air, hoping this Kusuriyuri was in, and available.

She traced the edge of the desk with a fingertip. "Hm. My goal at Hogwarts will likely be the same as my goal in the world I was in before coming here. I want to eat memories, and, do you know that it is always the most painful memories that taste the best? I like to make them as painful as I can before dining."

She smiled pleasantly. "That would be what I am doing here as well, I believe. Kurama--no, Sensei, caught my eye. And you helped the Chairman too. I am certain you helped Fuuka too, didn't you?"

She leaned forward, placing her elbow on the table and resting her chin on her palm. "Well aren't you just a bleeding heart. Have memories you'd like to keep do you? Ones about Kurama? About others?" She chuckled.

China fully entered the office. She stared at her stilettos for a moment, then frowned subtly. She began the tiresome task of unbuckling them, maneuvering the irritable strap from the clip and slipping them off. She finally managed it and placed them by the door. She stepped forward, she didn't kneel however. It wasn't a power thing, but she needed to know he'd be able to help her before she made the task of kneeling down in an expensive, short dress.

'Hello, my name's China Sorrows, you must be Mr. Kusuriyuri,' she began. 'I need,' she chuckled brashly, 'well I need to talk, are you free?'

"Good memories are wonderful things to have," he said, softly. All the better when they're turned into desperate memories of happier days as the bad ones Apos creates overshadow them with pain and torment.

"Scales?" he asked, more to himself. He blinked at the, finding them curious, wondering as to their relevance. For judgement, perhaps? In that case, since they were level now, he wondered if they would tip when his wings were out.

Wishbone was alarmed. He had been doing his usual sniffing around Hogwarts when he came across the scent of blood.

Blood and Kurama.

Kusuriyuri? Wishbone asked, poking his head in. Is Kurama okay? I can smell blood on the same trail as him.

[identity profile] mnemosyneeater.livejournal.com 2010-05-18 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
She tilted her head. "Scales I have seen before. Not ones like this though." She inspected the bells on the ends curiously.

Then, her wings burst from her back, six red long pinions, the two at the top smaller than the lower two. She watched the scales, her head tilting further. She wondered if they would react at all to the angel's influence, the killer nature in her.

Oh. Is that person okay? Wishbone, innocent dog he was, just thought that someone had an accident like breaking his nose or something.

Holy Roman Empire hadn't really run across the subject of divination during any of his library forays for studying offensive and defensive magic, and the notion that classes generally weren't held at Hogwarts had so far proven true in his experience. But surely it would still be useful to meet the professors nonetheless--after all, wouldn't they have gotten such a position for excelling in their field? And learning any kind of magic might unexpectedly prove advantageous.

So when he saw the sign outside the door, Holy Roman Empire stopped and knocked politely before poking his head inside. "You're the professor of Divinations?"
