Up until this point, Simon had been holding his own in the deadpan department. At the remark about the admissions committee, though, he nearly lost it. The idea of the Sorting Hat as an admissions committee ... making sober and responsible decisions ... maybe in an alternate reality? Okay, so it wasn't that funny, but all this weird humor had been sort of building up, and this was just the penultimate straw.
He was keeping it together thus far, but he needed to get out of here before he really did lose it. He wouldn't feel good about laughing at Andy, at least not to the man's face. Simon was a nice guy.
