Human Bella with an engagement ring... Now that was a future Edward was in full support of. He considered looking smug for one brief moment, but then caught up with himself and realized just how peculiar this was. Right. A thought for another day.

Well, it had been a long time since he'd seen his brother. And the events of Bella's birthday party hadn't really been Jasper's fault either; he had always been the one who was having the hardest time resisting human blood. Edward couldn't blame him, though he knew Jasper was blaming himself.

It did not matter. Edward and Bella were both here now, and they were happy. The hard times were behind them. Jasper had nothing to be ashamed of. Edward didn't say anything. 'I forgive you,' sounded idiotic, since there was nothing really to forgive. It was Edward's fault that Bella had even been there that day, all his fault that she'd been hurt, because he should have been strong enough to stay away from her. Why blame Jasper for Edward's own weakness? Woooooe, dammit!

"Still human," he murmured thoughtfully, eyes shining with undiluted happiness for a few brief moments before speaking again. "This is Hogwarts. Perhaps time works differently here. It is a magical place, after all. No, I have not... asked Bella to marry me. Yet." He smiled absentmindedly to himself, and was then pulled back to the present by this peculiar riddle. "Hm. What is the last thing you remember, before coming here?"
