::Open RP - Welcome to the Confusion!::

So, the talking hat (which was somehow more intimidating than a talking fridge) had placed Satou in Ravenclaw. The trouble was,he had no idea what that meant, and the bizarre little bug-eyed big-eared creatures he'd seen scuttling around unnerved him too much to try and ask.

He had, however, taken Kurama's promise of free room and board to heart, and a bit of wandering had lead him to the Great Hall, which happened to have a modest buffet laid out. Jackpot! Before anyone could tell him he couldn't, he took a plate and began piling on fish and chips (mostly fish).

That was the board part seen to. Now he needed to sort out the room.

"Because you're isolated, and sad, and I want to help you. You remind me of someone I once knew."

"He was similar. He understood clocks, but not humans."

"He made them. He was the greatest clockmaker in that world."

"That's right. Of course, he had an advantage in that he wasn't entirely human. He was the son of Time."

She frowned. "It - can't truly be explained, accurately, in any human language. The easiest way is to say 'the personification of Time'. She fell in love with a mortal."

Unity nodded. "Humans always feel a need to imagine concepts like those in their own image."

"There are - worlds where the boundary between real and unreal things is thinner than in this one." She sighed. "Which, again, is a highly inaccurate way of phrasing it, but it's the best I can do for anyone who can't percieve things in eighteen dimensions."

"It isn't drugs. I - I apologise for not making sense."

"This place tends to attract - entities who are somehow unusual."

"Complete failure would require you no longer to exist," she pointed out. "I assume that was hyperbole."

Unity bit her lip slightly, thoughtful. "No, I'm wrong, aren't I? Survival only qualifies as a 'success' if you've never attempted to cease existence. I should have remembered that." The mistake troubled her. She'd been in this body so long...

A nod. "No one can. And those of us who have cannot remain dead."
