Open RP, Great Hall

Although he normally eats alone in his room, the Great Hall is still where Light will eat occasionally. And now in the Great Hall, Light isn't doing much else than eating oranges slice by slice and such from the assorted fruit bowl a house elf delivered. He left whatever book he had been reading back in Slytherin because he was starting to get a headache while looking through it. Since he doesn't feel like going back to the book yet, Light stays longer than he would normally, so he might as well talk to some people while he's here.

"I won't." The 'God' in that sentence is implied. He sounds rather more fervent than someone holding an ordinary conversation, but no one else seems to be listening just now. "That's exactly what I mean to find."

Obviously Mikami doesn't mean to find that spell for himself. No, he's too late in time for any new memory to change things. But Light can't have Mikami know that he already agreed with L to let things be, because Mikami wouldn't understand. How could he when he lived in a world that accepted Kira and no longer saw the killings as murder, but true justice? He doesn't know the difference between being Kira and being someone that was accused of a crime that they didn't remember committing. Not that Light has been any help for him to understand this difference by allowing Mikami to continue seeing him as a god, but as long as Mikami isn't making a scene over Kira or that Light has the control to stop the other from starting something is enough.

"I see," this said in a way that can be interpreted however one wants to hear it, and Light continues eating from the fruit bowl.

It would take a lot for Mikami to suspect that he's just being humoured. He takes Light's comment as approval, and if it sounds a little flat - well, he's given God no reason to assume that he won't fail again. But he won't. This time, no mistakes.

"I'll - let you know," he says. It's still awkward for him, talking to God as if he were any other student. "When I discover anything."
