Awareness was the first thing to come to Light, but it might as well not have because the only thing that came forth was nothingness. Am I dead?, crosses the mind briefly before descending back to nothing. It feels cramped in this space, but also as if it goes on forever. That doesn't make sense, but it is all there is to feel. Memories float back lazily like clouds, but of where Light Yagami is currently or what he did just before escapes him. The last thing he remembers is finding out that Yotsuba has been proffiting off of Kira's power. Then, hearing comes back with the sound of a great

POP!

Suddenly there is floor under him, and butter all over him. Light lifts his head and sight returns just before the smell and taste of butter overpowers everything momentarily. Once he get's over the fact that there is butter everywhere, Light takes a moment to check the rest of himself over. His hair is a mess, and he is wearing a green sweater with the Slytherin insignia on it that goes well with the green socks and black shoes on his feet, although the socks are covered by tan pants. On one wrist there is a waterproof (hopefully butter proof too) watch, the other has a handcuff locked on it. Light's eyes trail down the chain of the handcuffs, only to find that Ryuzaki is nowhere to be found.

"Is this another test, Ryuzaki?" Light wonders aloud as he stands up to see if the door of this room is locked. It wouldn't surprise him if this was a test, as Ryuzaki already seems to be off his rocker about certain things, but it also would be unsurprising if this wasn't L's doing. Wouldn't he be covered in something sweeter than butter if this was L's idea? Then again if not L then...?

The door is unlocked, so Light wanders into the hallway in search of a washroom or Ryuzaki, whichever is found first. The chain drags along the floor behind him, but his buttery footprints already cover the castle floor so Light doesn't bother to pick it up as he goes in a random direction.

"Of course it wasn't anything sexual. Like when she thought someone pinched her butt, it was just you taking her cellphone," amoung other things that have explaination, but Misa thought differently.

"Okay, Ryuuzaki's not a pervert. Awesome, glad we've got that sorted, looks like your appearance had some use after all. Now fuck off and die."

"Matt," says L, sounding like maybe one day he thought that he should possibly sound chastising, but mostly like he wants to laugh, (possibly it's hysteria-driven) and is trying very hard not to.

"Maybe I am not so skilled a pick pocket as we had hoped."

"You tried to cover it up by saying you'll catch whoever did that, and it worked by making her laugh."

Matt's comment makes him look like a prick to Light, but whatever retort that could be said probably won't help Light make any friends so he just shoots Matt a dry look before looking back to Ryuuzaki.

Matt couldn't care less about whether Light thinks he's a prick or not. Like hell is he going to be pleasant to him.

But he backs down anyway. They'll probably need to get a drink after this.

"To the left," L turns, "and just down these stairs. It is not far now."

He sounds neutral about this fact.

"She does not sound particularly... astute."

"She cannot even see my lack of romantic interest in her," Misa is just another stupid woman after all.

It is a releif that Matt doesn't push it, because Light really doesn't want to get into an argument now.

"I wonder if she is at Hogwarts. The way things have been going, it is probably a matter of a few days, if that is not the case."

Woe. He doesn't want to meet her.

Woe. Light doesn't want to meet her.

"If she is around then it's only a matter of time before she finds me. While Misa isn't particularily smart, she always gets what she wants one way or another."

"She is. I met her at my Sorting." Matt shrugs. "She seemed nice enough."

To be fair, Matt has a thing for gothy blondes.

"I was probably not romantically interested in her though, do you think?"

He can't see himself chasing after anyone like that.

"I do not believe that you had any romantic interest in her. You were just getting information about Kira case from her."

"That makes sense." He'd do something like that for a case in a heartbeat.

Call him unscrupulous, but it'd get results.

"But she didn't see it that way, which was frustrating for the both of us," cause it was always Light that had to tell Misa to quit it. "After Misa met me, she was careless with what she said and it was rather obvious that she was the second Kira."

"Then you must have been at least peripherally aware that the odds were high that you were the first Kira."

He has a limited grasp of the chain of events, but he knows some things, and can guess others.

"I was aware of the possibility, but there was nothing you could do at the time due to preventive measures I took while I was still acting as Kira. Which efficiently kept Misa and I looking innocent. And, although what Misa said made her look like the second Kira, nothing was conclusive."

"Your rooms should be just down this hallway."

He inclines his head.

"If the layout of Slytherin is the same. Perhaps we could discuss the details of the case more at a later date?"

"The details of my planning are not something I can recall, but I can discuss more on what we were doing."

Light looks down the hallway trying to remember where his room was, but nothing comes up.

"Thank you for showing me the way down here," Light says this to L, but Matt came with them too even if Matt was just irratable.

"Acceptable. It was no serious trouble."

He takes a step backwards.

"Good luck finding which one is yours." He needs to get out of here.
