Peter was just glad that there was somebody in this place that was thinking quietly. He didn't tend to pick up on the absence of thought, only the presence - still, the relief of not having to hear thoughts was a welcome one. People could think some really strange things when they assumed nobody was listening.
"Yeah, sometimes," Peter replied, his smile wry. "It was kind of sudden, all I used to be able to draw was stick figures. And now the things I paint never seem to be anything people would want to paint. It's... long story."
