"Must not be too practical in this day and age." But then he thought about it, and he added: "... and motorcycles get better mileage."

Of course, there were other reasons. For him mostly, since the other Horsepeople hadn't likely settled on motorcycles because of them. There were exhaust fumes and smells. And, most importantly, there were oil puddles that reflected colors as they slicked across the pavement. Pollution smiled at the thought of them.

The smile hardly suited him at all.
