Dear Buffy,

I arrived, I'm here, I'm good, I'm safe. It was a very interesting day, even by my standards. The Sorting? Giles told me it'd be, his word, "harrowing," and it was (I just about got into it with this psycho fashion disaster), but I managed to meet some really cool people--do I have some things to tell you that I don't want to put in a letter!--and landed in Ravenclaw House, which is seriously cool. The prefect's got it going.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know everything's okay, and you don't have to beat anyone up. I'll send regular owls to let you know how I'm doing, and you can send things back with them. Like Perugina. Lots and lots of Perugina.

Dear Giles,

You were right about the Sorting--it was, to say the least, interesting. I met one guy who claims to be a "real" demon, as in fallen angel, Satan, Hell, the whole bit. Funny thing is, I don't think he was just being pretentious. It's just a feeling. Oh, and I'm pretty sure I met one of those head-choppy-offy Immortals the other Watchers watch, too. Not sure what to think of him, but I do want to mine his brain about ancient languages.

I'm not taking Astronomy, by the way. Why not? Because GLORY teaches it! Yes, that Glory. Apparently, dead things keep coming back here. Word is she can't harm me here, but that doesn't mean I want to spend time in her zip code. DO NOT tell Buffy.

Tomorrow, I'm signing up for Ancient Runes, Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Potions, Herbology, and maybe something or other else. And I'm so learning how to ride a broom!
