[[Taking him pre-Planet of Fire. So he doesn't know the bitch Peri yet]]

This is not the TARDIS.

Turlough gave a surly glance around the stone walls. "Doctor, if this is some kind of joke, I fail to see the humor." No response. Save from the damned quill poking him. "Fine fine, I'll look."

Oh, god, it's an application for....Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? Can't be worse than Brenton.

1. What is your favorite cheese? Why is it your favorite?

I fail to see why that should be important on a school application. Not like the administration would just serve us rotting cheese, if any.

2. Who would you kill first, Barney or Carrottop?

After my time. Or before, depending on how you look at it.

3. What time is it where you are?

As if it's possible to keep track of time when you're travelling in a malfunctioning time machine with a batty Time Lord who's fond of cricket, of all things.

4. If you were Albus Dumbledore returned from the dead, which member of the Order of the Phoenix would you sexually harass? How would you harass them? If you are Albus Dumbledore, please answer as if you were Sirius Black.

I'm sorry, what?

5. If you are pushing to be in:

A. Slytherin - please state the clever, witty name of the bar in which you bartend, in the dark.

Bartending actually sounds like a decent job. But what to name it? Probably after something in my travels, out of this world, so no one would get it.

B. Gryffindor – Debate whether Harry should ultimately end up married to Fred or George. Use examples from a variety of world mythologies to bolster your argument.

Hey, if he can't decide who to marry, that's his funeral.

C. Ravenclaw – You guys are supposed to be smart. Explain why my desk is inundated with paperwork at all times, even though I’m constantly disposing of it.

You have a strict teacher who insists on adding more and more homework so you don't have a moment of free time.

D. Hufflepuff – Prove you are not useless.

Well, some people seem to find it humorous to tie me up, so I suppose there's that.

6. Offer a bribe to the members of this community so that they will not squib you. Items used in bribery do not necessarily have to belong to the person offering the bribe. Do not threaten us rather than offering a bribe. A threat indicates you either don't really want to be here, or don't have enough sense to answer the question properly. The hat will automatically squib you, regardless of other votes, if you do.

Got nothing, really.

Whatever. Jaime was a little too preoccupied with trying to ignore the annoying alien AI that was trying to figure out where Turlough was from to really care. "So, where do you wanna be Sorted?"

"Well, yeah, but in theory a vote influences the final decision. And I can vote you into a House that won't drive you up the wall, so it's something." The guy was kind of cranky, but hey, he didn't mean to show up either.

"Gryffindor's supposed to be for the brave - I got rush-Sorted there, don't know why - and there's some video games in the common room. Nice people." Although he suspected Turlough would be bored. "Ravenclaw's supposed to be for the smart people; it's the one with the open bar and a lot of doctors and scientist types." Very bored scientist types.

"Hufflepuff is supposed to be for the useful, it's pretty random. And I think they have some kind of free convenience store or something. Slytherin... well, Slytherin has a lot of people I kinda avoid." Mainly because they freaked out the scarab, but he didn't say that. "Lot of villain types and politicians, couple nice people, but I think they're the minority." He decided not to mention the other four Houses, which he knew nothing about aside from their names and that people who were too nuts for the other four usually went there.

Jaime folded his arms. "Any of those sound better than the others?"

Vote: Ravenclaw

Well, that was easy. "I'm just gonna vote Ravenclaw, then. Don't need a bribe, I didn't have anything on me either."

He turned to go, then paused. "Uh, just to warn you, if you can't think of a bribe then you might want to distract the Hat with something shiny when it Sorts you. I think that's the only way to keep it from demanding a bribe." It had worked for him, after all, although the distraction was completely incidental.

"De nada. Good luck, man," Jaime said before heading out.

The You'll need it was vaguely implied. It would probably depend on the mood the Hat was in, after all.
