Closed RP: Everybody loves picnics!

The first thing that Peter had noticed when he'd woken up from his post-work nap (at noon, in his own room because he hadn't wanted to disturb Rachel from sleep) was that it was actually a sunny day outside. Well, to be technical, these thoughts had come after more incoherent ones, such as: Huh? Oh. I'm awake. Need shower. Need food. Need clothes on. NEED COFFEE. COFFEE NOW. But after the caveman-like fog of tiredness had lifted - yes, beautiful day.

Clearly the only thing to do was to take Rachel out on a picnic by the lake.

It hadn't taken long to arrange. A trip down to the kitchens to collect everything in a wicker basket - cheeses, crackers, fruits, champagne, chocolate. Peter might have brought expensive Swedish chocolates on his way home from work. ...Yeah, he totally had. He was a romantic at heart, what could he say?

Tucking a thick blanket under his arm, and holding the basket with one hand and a fresh cup of coffee with the other, Peter slowly made his way up to Gryffindor, frowning intensely at the coffee to prevent spilling. Not that frowning at it would make it any less likely to spill, really, but it was the thought that counted.

At 1pm, Rachel would still be waking up. And as soon as Peter arrived outside her door, he was confronted with a problem. He didn't have any spare hands to knock or turn the knob. Huffing a short sigh, Peter leaned forward and thumped his head against the door a few times. Ow.
